cand vad din astea imi vine sa urlu “ok, to the news now!” – geniala replica a jurnalistei Mika Brzezinski in fata unei alte stiri in plus despre paris hilton in desfasuratorul jurnalului prezentat de ea.

just a short note about the best kiss. what the heck is going on with you people in the entertainment industry? get over it folks, we had enough of gay tenderness and most of all, enough of simulated onstage kisses.
as for Sarah Silverman, i just love that girl, she is full of vipsecticide which makes her my blog’s personal hero. my tribute to her goes here:
looking forward to silverman’s attack on Sacha Baron Cohen’s inability to tell a gypsy from a kazakh. here’s a little hint for you Sacha, people from central asia usually have almond-shaped eyes. just rewind one of your childhood’s Bruce Lee tapes and you’ll be one step closer to Kazakhstan. A matter of easy cultural learning.
I
I will be king
And you
You will be queen
Though nothing will
Drive them away
We can beat them
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
Just for one day
And you
You can be mean
And I
I’ll drink all the time
‘Cause we’re lovers
And that is a fact
Yes we’re lovers
And that is that
Though nothing
Will keep us together
We could steal time
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
For ever and ever
What d’you say
I
I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins
Like dolphins can swim
Though nothing
Will keep us together
We can beat them
For ever and ever
Oh we can be Heroes
Just for one day
I
I will be king
And you
You will be queen
Though nothing
Will drive them away
We can be Heroes
Just for one day
We can be us
Just for one day
I
I can remember
Standing
By the wall
And the guns
Shot above our heads
And we kissed
As though nothing could fall
And the shame
Was on the other side
Oh we can beat them
For ever and ever
Then we can be Heroes
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
We’re nothing
And nothing will help us
Maybe we’re lying
Then you better not stay
But we could be safer
Just for one day
David Bowie – Absolute Beginners, LIVE, BBC 2000
I’ve nothing much to offer
There’s nothing much to take
I’m an absolute beginner
And I’m absolutely sane
As long as we’re together
The rest can go to hell
I absolutely love you
But we’re absolute beginners
With eyes completely open
But nervous all the same
If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Could laugh at the ocean
Just like the films
There’s no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It’s absolutely true
Nothing much could happen
Nothing we can’t shake
Oh we’re absolute beginners
With nothing much at stake
As long as you’re still smiling
There’s nothing more I need
I absolutely love you
But we’re absolute beginners
But if my love is your love
We’re certain to succeed
If our love song
Could fly over mountains
Sail over heartaches
Just like the films
There’s no reason
To feel all the hard times
To lay down the hard lines
It’s absolutely true
The Man Who Sold The World
Live at the Beeb 2000
We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasn’t there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago
Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You’re face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World
I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home
I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazely stare at all the millions here
We must have died alone, a long long time ago
Who knows? not me
We never lost control
You’re face to face
With the Man who Sold the World
Who knows? not me
We never lost control
You’re face to face
With the Man who Sold the World
Bowie and Lennox – Under Pressure (live at Wembley, april 20 1992, The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness, )
Um boom ba bay
Um boom ba bay
Um Um boom ba bay bay
Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure
That burns a building down
Splits a family in two
Puts people on streets
Um ba ba bay
Um ba ba bay
Dee day duh
Ee day duh
thats ok
It’s the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out!
Tomorrow takes me higher
Pressure on people
People on streets
Day day day
da da dup bup bup
Okay
Chippin’ around
kick my brains round the floor
These are the days
It never rains but it pours
Ee do bay bup
Ee do bay ba bup
Ee do bup
Bay bup
People on streets
Dee da dee da day
People on streets
Dee da dee da dee da dee da
It’s the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out!
Tomorrow takes me high high higher
Pressure on people
People on streets
Turned away from it all
Like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don’t work
Keep coming up with love
But it’s so slashed and torn
Why why why?
(Love, love, love, love)
Insanity laughs under pressure we’re cracking
Can’t we give ourselves one more chance?
Why can’t we give love that one more chance?
Why can’t we give love give love give love?
Give love give love give love give love give love give love?
Cause love’s such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care
For the people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way
Of caring about ourselves
This is our last dance
This is our last dance
this is ourselves
ENGLISH
None must sleep! None must sleep!
And you, too, Princess,
in your cold room,
gaze at the stars
which tremble with love
and hope!
But my mystery is locked within me,
no-one shall know my name!
No, no, I shall say it as my mouth
meets yours when the dawn is breaking!
And my kiss will break the silence
which makes you mine!
(No-one shall know his name,
and we, alas, shall die!)
Vanish, o night!
Fade, stars!
At dawn I shall win
La ci darem la mano
Mozart, Don Giovanni
Anna Netrebko and Bo Skovhus
Là ci darem la mano,
Là mi dirai di sì,
Vedi, non è lontano,
Partiam, ben mio, da qui.
Vorrei, e non vorrei,
Mi trema un poco il cor
Felice, è ver, sarei,
Ma può burlami ancor.
Vieni, mio bel diletto!
Mifa pietà Masetto. Io cangierò tua sorte
Presto non son più forte.
Andiam, andiam…
Andiam…
Andiam, andiam, mio bene,
A ristorar le pene
D’un innocente amor
DON GIOVANNI
There we shall take hands,
there you will say ‘I will’.
See, it is not too distant,
come, my sweet, let’s go.
ZERLINA
I want to and yet I don’t:
my heart has slight misgivings.
I should, indeed, be happy,
but he might be bluffing me.
DON GIOVANNI
Come, my charming temptress!
I shall transform your life.
ZERLINA
My heart bleeds for Masetto! …
Then quick, my resistance has crumbled!
DON GIOVANNI, ZERLINA
Then come, then come, my sweetheart,
to remedy the torment
of an innocent love! etc.
Delibes: Lakmé Flower Duet
“Viens, Mallika, les lianes en fleurs”
Erika Miklosa (Lakmé) Bernadett Wiedemann (Mallika)
Bela Bartok National Concert Hall, Budapest 2006
Ah! descendons
Ensemble!
Under the thick dome where the white jasmine
With the roses entwined together
On the river bank covered with flowers laughing in the morning
Gently floating on its charming risings
On the river’s current
On the shining waves
One hand reaches
Reaches for the bank
Where the spring sleeps and
The bird, the bird sings.
Under the thick dome where the white jasmine
Ah! calling us
Together!
Under the thick dome where white jasmine
With the roses entwined together
On the river bank covered with flowers laughing in the morning
Let us descend together
Gently floating on its charming risings,
On the river’s current
On the shining waves,
One hand reaches,
Reaches for the bank,
Where the spring sleeps,
And the bird, the bird sings.
Under the thick dome where the white jasmine
Ah! calling us
Together!
